HORRENDOUS PLACE

Absolutely awful school.Teachers don’t care about students voices. Was left with a bad maths teacher for 4 years and they only got a better one on the last year who had to teach us everything we missed .Teachers bully students to make other students laugh.Ofsted reviews are fraud, children were threatened with internal exclusion or suspension if bad things were said of the school. Only send your child to this school if you hate them because no one deserves to go to a place this bad.If your child is lucky enough to be a teachers favourite they may enjoy their time but if they aren’t it’s an awful experience.Your Childs voice will never be heard and they will be judged by the teachers daily

My experience

I finished this school this year, they did have some amazing teachers, but unfortunately when it comes to student welfare they never care as to how the student feels. I was consistently harassed in my classes and hallways between years 9-11 by a large group of students in my year once they found out a trigger of mine and they proceeded to follow me everywhere with it. When I approved numerous staff about it they failed to do anything about this harassment, and told me that I should just react and not "act weird" (when in reality, all the things that they considered "acting weird" which they believed made me a target were common nuerodivergant traits) when I would retaliate to the consistent harassment, which caused me to consistently break down and lose class time, the blame and punishment would be placed on me, rarther then the people causing the problems. They also have a problem with inconsiatent teachers, as one year the entire maths department quit, and another the entire science department quit aswell. This negatively affected students learning as we constantly repeated things and never had consistent teachers.

Brief Summary of My Time at Meridian So Far

Pros: the staff are amazing, my biology teacher is so nice and approachable. Year 10 so far has been great. Our art department has a lot of resources for the aspiring artists and will push you as far as they can!!

Cons: teachers do not deal with bullying properly, I was s*xu*lly harassed (as were some of my friends by another student) by a particular student and they also bullied me for a while, not until in year 9 did they get permanently excluded. Their counselling situation could be better I believe. Food prices are expensive for the sizes but the quality can also vary.

Overall, Meridian is a good school, the cons are pretty rubbish but I believe some if the teachers are amazing. (Sidenote: kids think they're all big and hard. You're not, pushing people around and being rude just makes you ✨pathetic✨)
