New Rickstones Academy

Im only putting this as 3 star because apparently all the 1 star reviews are locked under a paywall. If I could put 1 star without being censored, I would. Since I started this school, I have suffered from extreme bullying and mental health issues. Not even half a year into year 7 and I was already being bullied for being a lesbian. I recently detransitioned due to my own identity, but when I identified a trans man for the whole of last year, I experienced extreme mocking and bullying. I complained and had a meeting with the school last year about this because I wanted to move schools and they gave me a mental health form (which also had the NHS logo in the corner, they did not mention this) to fill out and a mini notebook to 'write down my worries' instead of dealing with the issues. They yell at me and my friends for being in the wrong places at lunch, but I can be physically and mentally bullied and no one bats an eye? TODAY, I was having water squirted at me and on my work, falsely accused of hitting people, thrown off my chair and had water poured on me to show my curly hair (which i have clearly expressed panic about showing for a while) and the teacher gave me a 60 minute detention for 'disruption'. I will most likely be moving schools this year. Do not send your children here. This school is only okay if you are a basic popular kid with no individuality who just follows every trend and latest show or whatever.

some teachers are fine, english, science and drama departments are probably the best there and even then they’re sub par. the teachers are incapable of dealing with mental health issues or bullying, they only care when you’re about to unalive yourself. the teachers have favourites and that’s very clear from being a teachers favourite i got away with come things that others couldn’t. some teachers are sexist, for example me and my boyfriend did the exact same thing (didn’t do our top button up) and he got yelled at for it, although because of his mental health issues he couldn’t do it up, and guess what? i got away with it. homophobia and transphobia runs rampant in that school and they don’t care, they never will. if you’re a neurotypical straight racist person you’ll fit in here. my advice? go somewhere else, anywhere else. if you love your kids you won’t send them here.

they’re incapable of dealing with mental health issues or bullying. kids smoke weed in the courts opposite the school, not like they care tho. i never got help after a family member died not until i attempted to unalive myself. do yourself a favour and don’t go here lads

Never allowed individuality my collar rose up slightly after a drama class I got a detention. I had a lot going on so I needed therapy and we chose Friday cause I would miss half of music and half of history. But every Friday (even though we had a signed agreement) the would set off the fire drill ??‍♀️
