Its not a bad school, however there are some reasons as to why it is not the best. 1. Swearing: most if not all of the students swear. 2. LGBTQ+: over a quater of the students are in thos cominity which is not an issue, the issue lies where because of your looks you can be considered to be part of them and mistreated by them.
Overall, the uniform rules are not very strict and some of the teachers are lovely, other activities like culture day and school trips are also an amazing thing that just brings the school together. My final thing to say is stay away from the head of KS3, he has made almost everyone cry on my first year at the school.
I’m sorry but this the worst school ever I wouldn’t recommend coming here, When I went there my mental health got worst and the teachers didn’t do anything to help when I told them I was struggling!!! They never deal with bullying or Anything properly either!! So I wouldn’t recommend this school for your child!!!!
Teachers need to help students more and learn to notice when their students need support when I was at nsg I felt like I was being ignored constantly it was a good this I had a great friendship group. I will say there are a few teachers that are great. Over my time at nsg I grew a liking to a few teachers such as Mrs Green, Mrs Wilson, Mr Adams, Mr Armstrong and Miss Edwards. They made me feel like I have people to talk to.
Years 7-11 pretty good. Years 12-13 terrible. I don't recommend the 6th form. Resources are minimal, still treated like children, dyslexia provision is non existant. School ethos is respect, but little shown to 6th formers who are still treated like 11 year olds. Regretting my choices.
I went here for a better education as I had assumed it would be good since it’s a paid school but all I got was feeling depressed all the time. The teachers were ok, but in specific subjects constantly changed which disrupted learning a lot . There are many assemblies and activities about wellbeing and mental health but school causes a lot of stress by constant exams and force you to take either Spanish french or German . The food definitely isn’t worth what each student pays.
Overall you should probably pick another school :-)
School started blackmailing me and my mum with suing us while I was severely ill , provided 0 support for mental health despite it going on for 4 years , breaking many many laws including discrimination, attendance and bullying, one of the heads started insulting me to my face , wouldn't use preferred names or pronouns on my friends and overall have no respect for others
Terrible school with disgusting teachers who don't have a single ounce of respect for people with any sort of mental health issues. Homophobic transphoic and overall awful people if you want respect don't go you won't get it.
An amazing school with a great community of people the ethos of respect for self respect for other respect for learning speaks for itself!
I’d definitely recommend coming here!
