my experience at ophs so far (as a student with autism)
hiiii send student at ophs here!!!!!
this school is genuinely so bad. not even joking.
i see boys with special educational needs get accommodated left right and center, while im left struggling with my autistic meltdowns in class. its humiliating but i can't control or manage it without my needs being met.
me and my bff both have sped needs and we do not get what they say they offer.
medical misogyny is real.
they only care if you cause problems, for example, walking out of class, maybe distracting people, maybe skipping lessons or arguing with teachers. acting out will make u a priority in the school.
but what about me? my best friend? and all the other send students that struggle daily due to not being accommodated????
what if i dont want to act out??? what if staying quiet is better for me???
my best friend has symptoms of asd and anxiety. i have asd (autism).
we do not have our needs met. why should i have to choose between saving my grades or saving my mental health?
there is a boy in my class whose autism is milder than mine. not saying that he doesn't have special needs, but teachers speak softer to him, he has modified work, a support teacher.
i have none of those.
outside of sped, teachers are harsh and so are punishments. are they even consequences at this point? if you have 3 lates in a week, you get a 1 hour detention. we are scolded for anything and everything. dropping a pen will make you get yelled at. students are expected to be as quiet as a mouse.
they promise a good experience, opportunities, but all of the little promises they are unable to keep don't matter when students are drowning in ups and downs. i used to not dread coming to school everyday, but that all changed when i entered year 7. from year 7 to now, ive wanted nothing more than to just feel anything but numbness and shame. by enrolling myself in this school, i have forever lost a spark that i will not get back. ever.
do not attend oaks park. especially if you are a sen(d) student or struggle with mental health.
they are all lying about what they offer. do not fall for it like i did.

This school is a concentration camp they have a legal team that covers things up for them.
The Head teacher breaches GDPR and uses school information for her personal use for youth justice system.
The school wants to look good on Ofsted inspection, therefore, it triples the workload for teachers and for students. Bureaucracy is widespread. Both students and teachers do not feel safe in the school as they implemented a 'surveillance system'. Feeling depressed in the school everyday. The school lacks food welfare system to take care of everyone's mental health. If you did't get work done well, you would be blamed severely. The school is notorious in the area for lack of efficient and effective management system. All good teachers are gone.
This school is possibly the worst in the United Kingdom. As a student you walk into the Welfare Room and see many students with self inflicted injuries across their arms which is so telling. The SLT are horrible, and will bully and torment your child in the worst ways. There have been incidents where students have been refused food because they would not speak to one of the members of SLT. No matter how bad a kid is, refusing food should never be a punishment. The headteacher is the worst of them all. She has shown racism and hostility towards many students on many different occasions. Examples of this from students are: Victim blaming a student who had been sexually harassed in HER school, Searching black students bags because they wore hoodies to school, and disregarding students’ mental health. I’d be here all day if i were to speak of the trauma this school will bring to your child.
The School did not often mark work done and did not provide relevant feedback on work set thereby jeapordising pupils progress. Ofsted has a legal duty to check on the standard of education and welfare of children in school and should get its act together to avoid escsalation. A very bad school in my opinion. AVOID If you value education and safety.
Teacher are bullying and victimisation towards some students September 2022 till now. This also was exposed last year and the teachers went on strike for 4 months.
Constantly at fault, poor cooperation, poor communication skills, unjustified acts. Do not adequately support students especially in terms of mental health
