My son has just started at the school. So far I have been blown away by the support and kindness of not only the teachers but the students.
After reading some of the reviews I was admittedly very concerned about sending my son here but I can’t believe the change in my boy in such a short space of time.
The new build has been well thought out and the grove unit is well resourced to support those children who require additional support. My son is able to receive the pastoral care and support whilst still accessing the mainstream classes.
After years of struggling to get my son the assistance and understanding he needs in primary school it is a breath of fresh air to see this school getting it so right. Even the students have been so welcoming and accepting. One day my son received two round of applause in his art and maths class from the students !
He loves going into classes and comes home in such a positive mood.
Orchards academy I can’t thank you enough.
Keep doing what you are doing.
This school insists it has a zero tolerance to bullying but unfortunately that is not the case. Bullying exists daily from pupils and even teachers. The school doesn’t recognise bullying and will cover up, brush it under the carpet and even blame the victim. Students can literally do what they want to other students however if they answer a teacher back or use the wrong tone they will be punished.
This school is failing at the basics !!!
There are a few caring brilliant teachers at this school but unfortunately there are more that are rude, ignorant, arrogant and more likely to argue with students. It seems over run in the Harvey and Grove centres so no time for SEN unless they have a diagnosis even then they need to wait for access and acceptance.
Toilets are disgusting, most toilet seats are broken and no soap or hand drying is available.
Welll I was at school and for some unknown reason I got a gut feeling obviously when you get those you don’t ignore it so I looked around and I saw a teacher staring at me from a window with a set of utensils and I was very disturbed from that day on would recommend to the nearest b&q
