Negligence teacher bullying kids not caring about the mental state if kids screaming in front of Everyone attendance more important than health and neglect alegiees neglect swollen hand and also teacher gang up on kids can't us ebathroom feel unsafe
My child attends year 8 at Park Vale Academy. He is autistic and also has ADHD but is high functioning. He receives support from the majority of his teachers and is doing really well and has made a good group of friends. He can be an easy target for bullies and we have had some issues but I liaised with his form tutor and head of house and it has been dealt with. It crops up again from time to time but the school is straight on it.
Yes, this school might be a little strict and small infractions can result in a detention but it encourages kids to get their heads down and work and not be disruptive. There is order, calm and quiet at this school and that's really important in a learning environment. When this school was Top Valley Comprehensive I believe it was rated inadequate by Ofsted. Redhill Academy Trust gave us Mr Bowhay and he has turned Park Vale into a 'Good' Osfted school. There's not that many in this area of Nottingham and I am happy my son is at one!
It's not all rainbows - my son has had a negative mark from the head teacher for walking the wrong way on the stairs, he has been given negative marks for losing his timetable - all part of his ADHD/Autism. BUT the school are trying their best to teach him and instil core values and help him to learn so life is easier for him further down the line.
If you're thinking of this school for your child, go to an open day. Attend one of Mr Bowhay's talks and meet some teachers. Find out for yourself. Kids from this school have ended up at Oxford and Cambridge....it takes an excellent school to get there!
Also worth noting - fantastic selection of after school clubs and trips.
Avoid this school like the plague! It is absolutely terrible. I literally can't! The entire institution is an actual joke. The list of bad things is so long. My child has autism and they denied it, they also said he didn't need an EHCP, but I got one without their input because they literally said he was great at everything and didn't have a disability, he didn't go to school for a long time because the school neglected to provide a sage environment and didn't follow the welfare officers advice, although she was crap as well. Avoid!
Do not come to the school they go through your phone they wont let you have a drink in lession if your sick they will not send you home because you education is more important when you leave for lunch at 12:25 when you get your food its 12:55 then you only have 10 minuites to eat it the teachers scream in you face house support dont even support you they send you back to your lession if your free school meals dont get to hyped up becasue they still charge you do not send your kids to this school 🤮🤢 they even leave the school gate open all day
This school is horrible. I would not recommend letting your child come to this school. The teachers scream in student's faces and dossent seen to care for there mental health. And if you shout back at them you receive an isolation with no work to do they claim them give you work but they do not and your child has too stay until 4pm. The school is know for a bad reputation and there is a reason why it has a bad reputation I could name so many more things why the school is a bad environment .
