Too small for pupils to form strong friendship groups.
Child started at the end of Junior School and transferred to Senior School. School numbers are too small for pupils to socialise and find others with similar interests and to bond with. School try and force friendships which just cant be done and they micromanage and over analyse friendhips. Child moving to State school for year 8 and I have seen such a positive change in my child with them knowing this.
We moved our child here having had a particularly bad experience in a local state school. The transformation in her has been amazing. She now has more confidence and is doing well in her studies. This is a small school with a family feel, the teachers are excellent and the grounds are amazing. The school focuses on the individual strengths of each pupil and brings the best out in them. My son will be attending from this September and I would not hesitate to recommend the school, well worth the investment.
I left Pitsford two years ago and I am still grateful that they helped me so much when I applied to Uni. I did not know what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go and the teachers from my tutor to the head were so kind and helpful. They raised my sights and gave me so much help with the application. I know I would not have gotten to where I am without them. A great school.
I am studying for my GCSEs and Pitsford School arranged for me and my mates to get revision during the Easter holidays for free. The teachers gave up their own time to do it and it made a great difference to where I am with my studying for the exams. The revision classes were great and the teachrs really care. I can't believe how involved and eager to help the staff here are. I am lucky to be here.
What a great holistic education! My child has just been on a continental trip with the Junior School, which my friends' children at other schools have not been on, which really blew his mind. The staff who took the trip were really great and even the Head went which shows how involved he is. A super school and I am sure Senior School will be just as great!
We have been really pleased with Pitsford as a school, it was the right choice for our child. The pastoral care is outstanding and the staff are so supportive of the children’s learning. The opportunities to undertake activities and to develop responsibility are endless. My child really enjoys school, it has allowed them to have a relaxed and enjoyable approach to their education and they have not had to grow up too quickly.
Pitsford has so much bang for its buck. My child (who has been through Junior and into Senior School) has benefited from the really caring teachers, small classes and incredible clubs. The staff, from the Head down, are really approachable and know every child and it is a real family experience. Some friends sent their children to other independent schools in the county and they are amazed when I describe what my child has got from their school. A wonderful place.
I have to say I am really impressed with the caring ethos at this small independent school. The pastoral care has been outstanding. My child has been at the school for 12 years and loves it, the support they have received for their GCSEs has been superb, the teachers really care and go the extra mile to support students. Overall, we are so glad we chose Pitsford, it has suited our child’s needs brilliantly.
The wraparound care at Pitsford is second to none. Me and my husband both work and need to be able to drop off the kids early and collect late. There are always senior leaders there first thing and last thing, always willing to chat and my children are safe and well-fed. The activities they do at night (football for my son, dance for my daughter!) are excellent and they love them. And they are in the fee. A lovely school, very satisfied.
The site is magnificent. The main building is a gorgeous manor house, the grounds are scultped like Stowe's (but here the children have free rein) and the classrooms are all modern and done up. And separate science buildings! What a beautiful park to come and learn in. My children love it and they are very lucky!
I really enjoy being at Pitsford School. The pupils are encouraged to do make changes and to take charge. We just had a 24 hour cycle to raise money for charity which was great fun and it only happened because the staff gave up their time to help. It is a great school and I really enjoy being here!
My children have been very happy at Pitsford School. They have got amazing help from their teachers (extra sessions after school to build confidence in subjects) and the activities are great. And part of the fee! A very safe and happy environment.
Results more important. look at Bosworth College instead.
Went down hill for me and didn't enjoy school as it was all about results and nothing about me as a person. I felt I was treated like a child not a growing teenager so I moved to Bosworth who have a much more forward thinking outlook on teaching.
Really great school. It is small with a family feel and every student is known by every teacher. The school goes way above and beyond with its pastoral care and when we were locked down, live lessons and pastoral meetings kept us all sane. I would recommend to everyone
Uninspiring with buildings that are very tired and need demolishing and broken equipment that needs replacing. After 2 years in the senior school our child was miserable so we moved them to another larger private school where their passion for learning was reignited.
Falling pupil numbers speak for themselves especially when other school pupil numbers are growing. Its a very sad and tired place.
Excellent supportive environment. My children have thrived in the Junior School. Pastoral support is really good and each child is treated as an individual. My kids love all the extra curricular clubs especially Cookery!
Loads of space outside for all the children to play on and they seem to be encouraged to be outside a lot which we like.
One year at this school was too long and we were relieved to remove him. He was physically and verbally assaulted by a older pupil as a hate crime and the school failed to support as the said they would. Our child needed counselling afterwards and we lost trust and confidence in the school as a result. Our complaint wasn't dealt with at all and the glossy brochure is nothing like the reality of the school. Also to add that after school clubs were frequently cancelled with no notice and equipment was broken meaning pupils had to share meaning they couldn't complete their set work.
There are better independent and state schools in the area than this three ring circus which isn't lead at all, let alone poorly lead.
Wrongly accused multiple times, threatened with expulsion and shouted at so so many times for simply getting a question wrong the teachers are mostly horrible and some don’t even specialise in their subject on the other hand some teachers especially the PE department english department and languages teachers are some of the sweetest people I have ever met and treat you as family from day one I will truely miss them.
Many of the teachers work very hard to get the best results for pupils, but there are some poor teachers. Many of the traditions of the school have gone and it’s become a bit boring in terms of what they do outside of the classroom. The Headteacher is not very dynamic and doesn’t seem to care.
Is a very good school and supportive. Although very expensive and refused to refund for lost time due to covid. Is very friendly and welcoming. Like a family as its so small.
