Bullying sometimes goes unpunished or insufficiently punished. When there are problems the staff become very secretive, evasive, and at times just dishonest.
I had very high hopes for the school originally, but it's inability to exercise it's disciplinary powers have left it creating a lord of the flies impression, with violence to often an occurrence.
There are communication problems amongst staff, with staff in key safeguarding positions unaware of messages given to the school office. This poses serious risks to students safety.
There are many good reasons to send children to the school, as it does some things well, but it seems at times unsafe.
Overall, PBA is a good quality school. It offers lots slots of extracurricular activities and has a curriculum that I think is enjoyable. However, the outdoor environment (e.g. The playground) has a lot of litter and is getting quite crammed now that the school is bigger than when it was first made.
P.S. A regular school dinner is £3, which I think is slightly overpriced.
This school is good for my children but got informed today something happened and it was good for the school picture the teacher took my sons rubix cube and start getting his sweating hands all over it and my son doesn’t like germs , so over all good school but could be a lot better .
I had high hopes for Pixbrook Academy, but unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. The communication from staff is often unclear, leading to confusion about important events and deadlines. Additionally, the facilities seem outdated and in need of maintenance, which detracts from the overall learning environment.
The curriculum, while ambitious, sometimes feels unorganized and lacks the necessary support for students who may be struggling. It's concerning to see some students falling behind without adequate resources or individualized attention.
Moreover, the atmosphere among students can be quite tense, which I believe affects both morale and motivation. I've noticed instances of unaddressed bullying, which should not be tolerated in any school.
Overall, I expected a much more supportive and enriching experience at Pixbrook Academy. I sincerely hope improvements are made, as every student deserves a nurturing educational environment.
There's a lot of stairs and you're not allowed to use the elevator. (yes, even if you have breathing issues) Some of the school dinners are good but most are bad (the cheese on Mac & cheese looks and tastes like melted glue.) The lessons are usually just the same thing for a whole term. Way too much homework.
