Ruined my mental health

During years 3-6, I experienced many friendship issues on a daily basis. This school were abhorrent at dealing with them and only caused more issues. During small arguments, they would often force children to talk to each other to try get them to make up, always causing further troubles and more insults and arguing. Instead of letting them have space, they would not give students time to process and apologise by their own will but instead of forced friendships. Due to this, I lost most of my friends during primary school and only remain friends with 2 after having a friend group of 15. The issues could have easily been resolved after a week if the school actually understood how human interaction worked. I have also been called a racist multiple times by teachers to the face as an 8 year old child for a small disagreement with my friend who was a different race. Not all forms of conflict are directed because of race, gender or sexuality and because of this i was later disliked by many peers and staff. It continued so much I was later diagnosed with depression.

In terms of education, I have also been personally discouraged by the headteacher. Upon taking a week off of school during Year 6 in March (whilst starting revision for SAT assessments) because of an illness, the headteacher decided to personally email my parents telling them that I would get some of the lowest marks in my end of year exams because I took time off. This caused mass amounts of stress as I was expected to get a high mark from both teachers and family. I later raised a concern with a teacher in the school, but received no recognition or extra support - most likely because it was stupid to suggest in the first place. My parents were fined during the time I took off and throughout Year 6 developed many symptoms of anxiety.

On a positive note, the playground has a lot of things to do, Year 6s are provided their own space, there are afternoons in KS2 which are looked forward to by all students called ‘Enrichment’ which covers areas of education that aren’t usually taught often such as cooking, music, drama and technology. There are also occasionally after school activities. The problem with the after school activities are that there is usually about 2/3 at a time at most all usually in sport.

It hadn’t been long since I’ve been at this school so there might be grammar errors.

Great school would really recomend

I loved going to this school it was a nurturing environment and it felt like the school really got to know all of its students as it was a small school. I would recommend sending any child to this school, they have good trips planned and the learning was good from what I experienced. I think that there are a few areas they can improve but most schools have something to improve on, I think that it is the best school in the area and would really recommend it.
