Terrible.

I go to this school currently and I can say the teachers do not care about your mental health at all. They're making new, stricter rules every term. The cameras looking into the toilets make me feel incredibly uncomfortable and there should be no excuse for them. You get atrocious punishments for being in the same cubicle with someone even if they were crying or you might not have any other friends so you eat lunch in one. Creating these strict rules on the toilets do NOT help people have friends. The prices in the canteen are also shocking. In a month at least £60+ is spent on lunches, queues are always in big groups where people always push in. Uniform policies are extremely strict as well which I don't understand why, we're students of QEHS already, that's enough stress itself, and we get punished for making a mistake by... wearing the wrong coloured skirt/trousers or forgetting our tie. It's stupid. No student should have to be this stressed about forgetting something. This school also doesn't do anything about bullying, I can say from experience the staff do pick favourites and don't care about the other person. It's a real shame that this is a high school where we students should be able to enjoy our early years in school learning and with our friends but we're not even allowed bracelets, necklaces, rings or hoodies. It's the little things like that which makes us feel dehumanised. School influences us to express ourselves, to be different, to stand out but we can't even express ourselves with the littlest of things like; jewellery, hair, accessories, etc. Why can't we have a policy where if we lose our belongings it's our fault? (It pretty much is already a thing as QEHS does not care.) this school is honestly one of the worst I've ever heard of and I go to it (I know a lot of people around the uk and their schools aren't half as bad, they let them wear bracelets, phones during lunchtime etc). You get a detention for chewing in class.. Sometimes students spend their lunches on the astroturf and have no time to get lunch. It's stupid. This school is no fun at all and when we have fun teachers and staff will always find a way to ruin it. Everyday there's just random new staff walking around the school doing nothing and I wonder if they're even qualified to be at a school since mine is so short of staff all the time, maybe they realised how bad of a school this is. First aid, we're not even allowed to go to first aid unless it's an "emergency" or we have an appointment for example: taking your medication. But for the students who have panic attacks, cramps, painful headaches, nosebleeds etc. We're not allowed to go to first aid at all and I find it funny at this point, this school has become an actual joke. It used to be alright in 2021 but overtime as I said at the start every term they somehow find a way to make this place worse, stricter and less enjoyable. Learning in the classroom: teachers show us a slideshow and make us write everything down expecting us to understand what it means but they completely forget about the ones who aren't as capable like me, I struggle reading especially something off a projected screen or a book so I leave most lessons not knowing anything. Why don't I ask for help? Because we get shouted at and humiliated by the teacher, I'm not going to mention names or anything but a teacher in the maths department loves to humiliate his students. He loves to make fun of them to the whole class and laugh. It's not funny it's humiliating and dehumanising. Another example is a teacher in the science department, she has a habit of treating the popular people properly and what some might even say "like a mate" but when it's someone who's seen as "weird" or just not in the popular tiers she'd treat them badly. They'd get shouted at or embarrassed to the whole class by her. Another member of staff I don't think does their job properly is a certain head of year, he likes to pick favourites. I mentioned this before. He'd always be in the popular one's side no matter how much they're in the wrong. I'm not going to make this too long but all im going to say is that the teachers need a lot of improving, either find new staff or sit them down and talk to them and get it in their head that is students have feelings too, we're kids, we make mistakes, we shouldn't be humiliated to the whole class, we should be allowed to go to bathrooms (girls especially since they have periods), prices for the most basic food should be lowered, we shouldn't have cameras creeping into the bathrooms, we shouldn't have a teacher be present in the room while students get changed for PE, we shouldn't be sent to seclusion or given a detention for having/missing the wrong item of clothing, we should be treated like humans with respect. It's always about treating the teachers with respect but we gain nothing in return. I've had so many days where I've cried and didn't want to come into school because of the teachers/staff, the bullying, the hours of work, teachers screaming at us for no reason. I'm tired. I don't want to be a student of this school anymore. I pray every night to move schools, I've spoken to people who've left or moved schools and they're so much happier. I just wished my highs school years wasn't this depressing and un enjoyable .

Happiest town ? Not the happiest school

Some really great teachers, but some really terrible ones too, who make you feel pressured, unwelcome and scared to arrive at school. Bullying is poorly dealt with and mental health is practically a joke to them.

Special Educational Needs

The school’s approach to SEN students is appalling. Kids come in with extreme needs and maximum funding to get no support what so ever. Certain members of staff are not qualified to deal with challenging situations (such as a meltdown/over stimulation) and even the pastoral team cause students anxiety. They also show no interest in bullying, they can be fully aware of illegal activities and just turn a blind eye. It’s disgusting.

Decent so far.

Decent school. Could do better about handling bullying.
