Sir Thomas Wharton

Regrettably, the school fell short of all expectations. Its substantial size can be overwhelming, especially for pupils transitioning from primary school, resembling an intricate airport drop-off system.

Improvements are needed in the school's anti-bullying campaign, as discipline seems lacking, leading to frequent fights in the school . In addition, the insufficient time allocated for lunches reveals a flawed system.

The overall attitude of both students and staff lacks the positivity portrayed during open evenings aimed at welcoming new pupils. While the school is striving for improvement, achieving outstanding status will necessitate more substantial efforts and some key changes.
The school should collaborate with the community catchment area to foster a stronger sense of community spirit overall.
Overall, the students' perspective is that the school resembles more of a prison feel rather than an educational setting , it's crucial to lift the prevailing dark cloud and infuse a sense of sunshine to bring the school to outstanding

Don’t put rules in place if you just break them yourselves

Question how does a teacher with fake tan all over them put your child in isolation for a bit of fake tan on and state it’s to distracting confused much here . That is like the teachers in the dinner hall eating there dinners telling the students to stop eating whilst they eat ….. you just wouldn’t there is a saying don’t tell a person to do something if your not prepared to do it your self that is facts you want the students to listen to you stop your rules if you just break them yourselfs as you are just going to loose the trust from the children and parents

this school has some good teachers, although we don't get to go to the toilets in lesson when they say "you could've gone at lunch" but at lunch we barely get time to even eat and the toilets are always crowded and some teachers point blank refuse to let us go. When the teachers actually put a toilet pass on a lot of the time pastoral doesn't even collect us and we are escorted to the toilets like prisoners when before they put a pass on and we just went to the toilet, also i think consequences are getting put out for stupid reasons , and detentions too , people may not have the time to do homework due to home reasons and then they get 2 hour detentions then get recommended homework club but what if the only buss they can get is straight after school or they have to pick a sibling up.

Better schools nearby

Your average public school, they’ve tried to make it “better” yet just made it more strict, they don’t do there best to solve problems that occur and when going into year 11 they force you to stay after school for atleast an hour.
