This school doesnt care about their students at all. Bullying isnt dealt with at all. Ive been involved in multiple situations where I've been told to get over a situation after asking for support but then they constantly remind us that they "love us" and that "we could always talk to them". They ignore the students with actual mental health issues unless they can visibly see you are struggling (cutting, panic attacks etc). As the years went on, the support got worse. Last year, the woman in charge of wellbeing ran it so well but then she was cut back by those above her. The students are not allowed to self-express at all. No coloured hair for children of colour, it could only be black. No brown, no blonde, no ginger, nothing. We weren't allowed to wear headscarves, bows, comfortable shoes, no earings, no necklaces, no bracelets, blazzers always on or BANG conduct card signed. At one point we couldn't even have our hair down. We aren't allowed badges on our blazers, on our jumpers or anywhere else you can think of. We were told that hair beads could be weaponised and they were then banned. The food is way to expensive for what it is. On the chips, there were black things on them from the pan. As in there was was pan on our chips. Chips were always hard and cold, Juice machine never works, Everything had hair in it or was just lumpy. The toliets. oh the toilets. GRIM. blood on the walls, on the toilet seats, on the door. Sanitary bins always full, floors always wet and there's only ever 1 woman cleaning them. God bless her soul. So polite and sweet but you can tell shes got her hands full. Moving onto the subjects. You're basically forced onto a path, and there's no moving off of it. They categorise you into smart and dumb and make it so blatantly obvious. One year, they had a mock results day where they separated the students as those who did well and those who didn't. That would have a long lasting effect on those who actually tried but still didnt do enough for the school. The staff are all rude and slightly racist. The departments are severly underfunded (especially the recreational ones) and they dont listen to the students when there is an issue with the teaching or the course. I had a personal experience with this where my teacher was away for most of the 2 years of the course, we learnt nothing and even when she was in, she clearly didnt care. We emailed into the head and her assistant and got ignored every single time. Even when they found out that her room wasnt safe for children, food or any other living being to be in, they still bought her back. Honestly, i could go on and on. But reflecting is painful. So yeah. Hopefully this makes sense? ALSO. before I go. A girl broke into the school. Twice, with the intent of harming a teacher. To the point where we were on lockdown. so PLEASE, for the future sanity of your children. Dont put them through what we've been through.
Firstly let me start off by saying this school is so broke they have to dillute the gravy in the Christmas dinner, they served us spoilt carrots and unripe peas, they can't even afford ordinary IKEA 2pound clocks instead they have either spoilt ones or none at all.Now the teachers are the worst they are brutal especially my english teacher, the ladies in pink are rude a d don't like to mind their buisness one of the cover teachers is racist , they don't care about us and overlook us the only students they care about are the over achievers they ignore our complaints such as bullying ,but they are the ones who preach a about catholic social teachings and antibullying, they tell us to be ready, respectful and safe but the school itself isn't ready, respectful and safe (so ironic)
Overall I it is ok
Hi started in 2021 I went through a rough experience when I was off for four months due to medical reasons they were very supportive although was not helpful with catch up work they really have inspired me although some teachers have no idea what they are doing I’m excited to start my gcse journey with them, but they do have good support when it comes to setting up a medical plan I’m happy at st Catherine’s as they really encourage you to make friends and make the end of year celebrations special, fun and exciting they spar no expense in venerating with the girls.
I will say though I believe they put too mouth pressure on girls to get good grades to keep up their scores.
it’s not good i went there for my secondary experience and i got onto an orange conduct card and all of the signatures were from teachers in the math department because i didn’t want to put on my blazer in 200 degree weather in the hottest place in the school
