Very average. There are better school around

Their communication to parents is terrible. Head teacher has no back bone and avoids confrontation; he’s clearly too young for this position and needs some life experience first. One of the teachers is often very moody and speaks badly to parents if they have an issue to raise, which includes shouting at them and becoming very defensive. They handle bullying badly - the offending children basically get away with their poor behaviour. It’s only properly monitored for four days. After that time, the teacher stops calling you and the suffering child keeps a record book in their tray of any further events. Parents of offending children aren’t even contacted to say a complaint has been made. Their structure for dealing with bad behaviour in school is laughable. If a child does something bad, they get moved down a colour triangle, however the children know that they only have to impress the teacher half an hour later to get moved back up again. This means they are affectively getting away with it, hence why it’s usually the same children misbehaving time and again. The system simply does not work.
My children came home on a regular basis and said how dirty the cutlery is (dried, crusty bits of food where it’s not been washed properly) and the food is terrible. They both ended up with pack lunches until the day they left. They also used to inform me of how filthy the hall floor is after it’s been used for the dining hall and they would then have to sit on it for PE or whatever.
The only things I like about it are the no shoe policy, so the children can wear slippers inside, but apparently that’s been stopped now due to covid. They do forest schools on a regular basis and sometimes animals are kept at the school, such as rabbits. There’s a dog too.
