stockport academy where do i start. im just gonna right 5 things about this school that need improving
1. staff training some staff are amazing and some staff make you feel like there just there for the pay check
2. students some of the students are amazing people others vape in school hours and i was walking down the corridor then some kid walked past they stunk of cannibis fights often happen
3. litter this links with 2 a bit but the school is covered in litter i often see student just dropping litter expecting somone to clean it up for them
4.security. people i know have been able to leave the building a method i heard was to say you have a doctors/dentist appointment and they take you to lobby area then you can walk out and hop the small fence.
5. lies when i was in year 6 and my mum and dad took me to the open evening i was amazed they made it seem like it was gonna be fun i would make friends and get the job of my dreams. the head teacher is harder to speak to then alien because she leaves it for the pastoral and head of year to deal with fights and conflicts.

this school needs huge improvements.
as a student here myself this school makes everyone feel miserable. I've seen multiple people I know cry about being here, all teachers are useless and do not understand mental health at all I have seen people cry on social media about how draining this school is, it is an awful school and requires huge improvement.

this school is absolutely disgraceful they care more about uniform than mental health. when they call parents they speak to them with an attitude , staff are rude to students and the students get punished when they speak back .

Save our children
They are endangering our children by having grown men as students and trying to pass them off as children all about the money your child won’t be safe they allow bullying also disturbing school
Disgusting
Migrant men tattooed and bearded are being allowed into the school as there living about the age to stay in the country.
Kids are being sexually harassed and the school are doing nothing apart from supporting the migrants and not the actual child.
Permits are to scared to speak up due to being label a racist.

Personally I think it’s a great school
Bad school.
This school is outrageous. Staff don’t understand your circumstances, you get manipulated about your behaviour an it gets turned around on you. Certain members off staff like to have a dig at you now an again. Situations with jewellery an nail polish/acrylics will end up with you being punished an sat in a room the whole day up until 3:55. Not allowed to get something to eat at the same time as everyone else you either have to go before or after. If your sad in an between lessons the first thing that is said to you is “why are you not in lessons” an “why are you truanting” even when they can see your frustrated/upset. One step out of line a your threatened with certain punishments such as bie, manage move. Teachers are also disrespectful to parents on the phone. Even if you are on your period an need to change they still think you should wait until the end of your lesson. Bad school stay well away. Always has had a bad name but they think by changing it to “Stockport academy” it’s better than the previous name avondale. When in fact it’s the exact same.

Please don't ignore this one. This is my in depth opinion, and I'm sure you'll find it valuable if you are planning to have your child come to this school. With that, here's my genuine thoughts:
Most teachers are horrible at their jobs. For example, if a class is loud because of only around 2 students, they'll keep the whole class for x amount of time. Also, the year 7s get rewarded for the simplest things. Underlined date and title? Merit. Sat down? Merit. You get the idea. Meanwhile, from year 8+, you barely ever get rewarded. I'm baffled at how this institution of "education" has gotten so many awards.
If any parents are thinking of sending your child here, please reconsider. It will completely destroy their self-confidence and mental health. I'm sure that there are plenty of much better schools around. I can assure you: A bus ride or two daily is much cheaper than the therapy that this school could make your child need.
Also, the homework amount is ridiculous. The students get so much that some people begin to dry heave from stress. Worst of all, it doesn't matter what set you are in. You could be the dumbest kid in school, and yet you'll get the same exact questions the smartest one does.
Bad behaviour is almost rewarded. Many students exploit this; they are naughty for 4 days, then are good for one day. In that one day, they'll get more rewards than the students who have been well behaved for a year. Plus, both indoors and outdoors are covered in litter. The floor is infested with fire ants, and pests such as mice are frequent.
In terms of safety, there's fights at random times without warning. Also, the gates are so short even somebody that's at least 4'8 could climb over it. If a conflict arrived between your child/a student and somebody outside, they could easily jump over and assault the student. Also, when there is fights, the staff members are too slow to resolve it, and will always end with either an unconscious student or a few minor/major injuries.
If you still are insistent on sending your child here after reading this, I can't stop you. But you will most likely discover more issues that I haven't covered here. Thank you for reading. Goodbye.

Cult like
Please think before sending your child here I’m an ex employee and I can tell you there is something wrong here it’s like an cult and as a teacher if you dare question what’s going on in the school with the bullying from teachers if you don’t conform or question their teaching ethics your gone

There is absolutely no communication between parents and teachers you can wait weeks for a call back about your child

Poor communication between parents and teachers when you call there is nobody to talk to so receptionists have to send an email out for the teacher you want to speak to and 3 weeks later you still hear nothing it’s appalling so if your child is being bullied or there’s an emergency don’t expect them to care !!
The only decent people are the receptionists they are amazing and don’t talk down to you as a parent and Iv heard teachers be rude to the receptionists it’s disgraceful

Bad school if you value your child’s mental well-being do not send your child here teachers are bully’s they don’t value parents opinions parents are ignored they don’t contact you back your children need saving from this school

I was not happy.They did nothing about bullying even though they claim to have exceptional anti bullying policies and awareness. Only a small collection of the teachers were nice. They had a decent education/curriculum system. The food queues were ridiculously long and children often went without lunch for a day. Sanitary basics were not shown in the bathrooms and the walls were full of graffiti. The children there often pushed me around and didn’t seem to care at all. There overall attendance standards are unbelievably high. I had the flu and still came in to school, they told me I had to stay off however when I was off they complained of my poor attendance. I would definitely not recommend this school to anyone other than snobs and idiots. ~By Anonymous. Aged 12

once half the students got food poisoning from raw meat in the burgers.
i skipped school most days for 2 years because they could provide any good support for me (which i badly needed) then kept getting whined at by them for not coming in like it was my fault.
all the staff very obviously hate their jobs too. apart from this one substitute that would go on about conspiracy theories and the paranormal to us which was funny but he wasn't doing his job and it took them years to sack him.
students are badly behaved and usually not stopped by staff.
special education support is understaffed and wasn't even available half the time which is so bad for people like myself who had to access it constantly.
toilets get locked during lesson time and for people who were allowed to go during lesson had to wait on average 30 minutes for a staff member to come and pick them up to take them.
this happened after i left but apparently now girls have to wear tights all the time no matter what?? this was because socks were some how inappropriate as well which is more than slightly concerning.
i could go on forever about how much i hate this place just don't send your kid here
