Sad School

An absolute disgrace.
I have been a teacher for over 30 years, in some of the toughest areas in London, and I have never encountered the levels of disgusting behaviour that I encountered at JW.
The levels of casual violence around the school was shocking; riot like behaviour on stair cases and corridors. I often saw pupils hospitalised just from changing lessons. I would refuse to walk along corridors and NEVER stairs.
Behaviour in lessons was also the worst I have ever seen, and I’ve worked in PRUs and Young Offenders institutions.
The school was rotten and it was just spreading and infecting every aspect of school. The staff absences were outrageous. I have never ever seen so many supply teachers in a staff room day in and day out. Most of the supply teachers won’t stay or come back, which means the school have to accept poor supply teachers that no one else wants, or non qualified supply teachers, including ones that don’t speak english, to teach English.
For a school so blighted by violence it seems strange that students in the after school army cadets club can wear their soldiers uniform to school- all day, twice a week. This is a strange demonstration of support for the British Army and I do not find it appropriate, especially as the community also has many war refugees. These children soldiers then stomp around with pretend guns at the end of the day, in the playground. It was utterly bizarre and I so hope they have stopped it now.
An extremely sad and dysfunctional school.

Don’t send children to John warner

If I could I would give no starts absolutely disgusting conduct by teachers who bully and victimise children with special needs, cover it up by adding provisions to files they don’t actually follow them after years of causing stress and mental health issues state can’t accommodate additional needs yet refuse to allow him a provision elsewhere and despite saying child is at risk in school expect him to attend. Should be shut down

Be warned

Dreadful school after ofsted it's got worse not better. Try and send your kids else were. Kids rule the school and the teachers have no control and some are completely useless and would rather spend the time chatting to the popular kids during lesson rather than teaching them. Can't see things turning around to be honest. New head doesn't give a stuff. The handful of good teachers leave and I don't blame them. Stay away from here.

Stay as far as you can from the John Warner School.

My school is probably one of the worst in the UK. A few months ago it was rated the ‘most sexist, racist and homophobic school in hertfordshire’. Ofsted visited the school multiple times in the last few months and the ratings have yet changed. The school is now ‘inadequate’ and will probably lose funding due to the failure of improving the school.
Teens mental health is a huge issue in todays society and as school is the large part of a teens life, they need to feel supported. This is typical in most schools, John Warner however, is not one. Bullying throughout the school is absolutely disgusting. It continues to happen daily and yet nothing seems to ever stop this. For example:
• A few boys in the classroom next to mine passed me a handwritten note underneath the door between the two rooms. On this note was a detailed drawing of me hanging myself. My teacher took this note off of me and threw it in the bin without noting down anything. A week later, I was in the same classroom and the same people were mocking me and as I said something back, I was punished for disrupting the class and was sent out. A member of SLT questioned me, so I told her what had happened, relieved someone cared. She promised that something would be done. However, nothing was put in place.
• I was locked in a toilet cubicle while other students barricaded the door and began throwing water over the gaps of the cubicle. They through full bottles over and once they were empty, they would refill them with water from the taps. Along with this, they were taking photos over the door. Whilst I tried to protect myself from getting even more soaked I used my blazer to cover my head. I later realised that where I was actually dripping from being so drenched the water had broke my earphones. The school new about this and did not do anything. They listened but no punishment was put in place for the perpetrators. I was in fact punished for ‘being in the toilets at the wrong time’, despite the fact I was targeted by the same people for the same reason.
These are only two of the many stories I have to tell.
Along with being bullied by students, teachers also take apart of this. Around three teachers have mocked me in the past and one of the three was even heard mocking me to her own class full of other students my age. She stated, ‘don’t even waste your breath on her, it’s a waste of energy,’. Of course, the school brushed this off and found a way to forget about the incident.
I am now in year 11 about to finish my GCSE’s and I am more than happy to be leaving this ‘school’ behind.

NEGLECT

The receptionist at John Warner School took my daughters food out of her hand after I had just dropped it off and handed it to her because I bought the food outside of the school, apparently this is against their regulations. My daughter experiences black outs and dizziness and they were aware of her medical condition. Perhaps someone should ensure that the receptionist does not eat for a day.

Bad school

As a student at this school they locked the toilets during lessons, they have now opened one toilet in the whole school and it has a camera in the main section of it.

Some Goods but mostly Bads

Half of teachers can’t control the class.
School wants to follow politically popular subjects instead of dealing with things fairly
School employ people who discriminate and prejudice people e.g librarian
School favour certain genders and races for political and parental reasons
School have good sports facilities and good opportunities for students
School leaders are too worried about being shouted at by parents so take the easy option when dealing with situations.
