Focus is entirely on academic performance and not on children's mental wellbeing. Very little incentives and rewards, rules mostly through fear of negative points and detentions. Toilets are now (literally) gated off during lesson times. Children may have to go half way across the building/s to get to one and will be stopped by ALL staff on the way as toilet passes are no longer provided physically to carry with you. Food is over priced. Online platforms aren't always the best. S.E.N.D support is hit and miss. The less you need, the more likely you'll manage. Lots of S.E.N.D children are forced to push through break downs or stay home until they can find new schools. Lots of lip service but little action. Constant bullying problems. Canteen food is low quality and overpriced, kids have to queue so long that the upper years struggle to get anything before lunch ends and often go hungry because the main meals have all gone before they got there.
It wasn't the nicest of schools they had they priorities not in the right place. Didn't truly care about the students. My opinion cared a bit too much about uniform and ofsted then sorting the actual issues out. Only a handful of teachers actual made life at the pingle academy tolerable. They really need to evaluate how the school is run, and actual hold students account for there action as well as make a students feel OK to come to school
It’s good to see the way Pingle has developed and strengthened its educational commitment
I was there the day it opened and have clear memories of that first day .
Pringle was the last of my schooling but not my professional and education journey
I went on to become a Registered Nurse gain an hons degree (law) in Oxford and gain a PhD in USA but memories of that first day Pringle stay with me
