I’m a student at the Sutton academy and it’s disgusting not only do they lie to you but give you detentions for no good reason I was trying to find my head of year to see if she can do anything else about my essa - THATS ANOTHER STORY. And she said I was 10 minutes late and gave it to me and said I decided to go on a walk …. And not only that my essa- emotional support stuffed animal I have one because I’m always stressing or I have panic attacks and they sent emails out to teachers saying I’m allowed one which on Wednesday I brought it in and they said I’m not allowed it and he’s too big but other students have bigger ones than mine and it has to fit in my pocket … this school is terrible my mental health is decreasing every time I’m in that school

I am a student at the Sutton academy and it is a poor school.Some teachers will make the time for you and help you but other teachers won't.Most teachers won't care about you or care how hard you try in lessons.But there are the LITTLE group of teachers that care about you and will help you when-ever you need it. If you need the toilet during lessons then the teachers put it through on-call 10 minutes after you ask +and they never turn up) but on the other side if they don't come in 10 minutes after it being put on-call then you can use the teachers pass.Both the boys and the girls toilet are together meaning either the boys can come into the girls toilet or the girls can come into the boys there is CCTV in the toilets and on brake and lunch there is a teacher making sure you don't mess around in the toilets.I wouldn't recommend you to come to this school according to different people's experience.

this school does NOT care for mental health whatsoever. They lock the toilets during lessons and rarely ever give you their “emergency pass” to go, the ammount of homework they give you is unbelievable, homework is mainly maths which is sparx maths consists of 5 tasks and each task has about 10 questions, you have to write bookword codes to “jog your memory” and takes an hour an a half, and if you dont get 100% they give you a detention, like wth. english homework is reasonable but quizlet is horrible, they dont give you digital literacy homework. Moving on to food, they dont give you much of an option tbh most of it is nice, the pizza, cookies and chips are the best but the drinks are meh, they dont give you radnor fizz which has lots of sugar in it which would give us energy for lessons which they always complain about but even with radnor fizz we still probably wouldnt have any energy because we are all always up all night doing homework until like 3 in the morning and everybody wants a lie in because theyre so tired, leaving them no time to eat breakfast, nobody does that anyway though so theyre all starving during lessons (causing their stomach to rumble which embarasses them but either way they still get embarrassed because not eating makes ur stomach make weird noises. school is so mentally draining with the teachers nagging on about homework and book presentation, if you draw like just a squigglly line in your book they make you write your entire book out all over again. most of the teachers are horrible (like miss pennington an english teacher, she on calls (removes from lesson) people for needing equipment, gives people warnings for having basic human needs like drinking water and she shouts at you for being about two minutes late) that bracket was unneeded, most teachers are like that, just look at mr mcwean, he doesnt usually tell you youre late he puts it on as a detention and doesnt tell you, he on calls people for asking basic questions like “whats the point of this practical” and gives people warnings for not understanding the work, thats the end of the written review have a nice time reading it mr willerton xxx -kaidi naylor xoxo

This is by far the worst school i have attended they dont care about mental health and go to fines immediately they are currently threating to fine my family because my attendance is below 90% because of the past years ive been there i have been cutting daily and had 2 suicide attempts yet they dont care and act like im a hooligan and judge my family for being from the balkans and being different to theit expectations and they dont let us use the bathrooms at any time and are locked however if you have a toilet pass the teachers act like your faking it another problem with them is whenever you open up about mental health problems they do their bare minimum and say its illegal to not go to school and thats it

Absolutely awful! I am a student who goes to the sutton academy and must i say, this school is probably one of the strictest schools ive ever saw. For example you will get a detention for wearing jewlery, phone being out/seen/heared, going into the wrong bathroom at lunch and break and even not going to a detention gets it upscaled and then into internal exclusion. In every bathroom are cctv cameras that they watch regurly. There are also teachers that stand outside of the bathroom which that is called bathroom duty. Also, one set of bathrooms have no doors to get into them and they are even connected to the boys bathrooms, both female and male can see into one anothers bathrooms. Yes every school says they dont have students they dont like but i can say thats not true. For 2 years straight they have done nothing but make me look like the bad guy to my parents and got me in trouble nearly every day, they would also twist what happned and make into a different story where i actaully am the bad guy. Dont go to this school 11

As much as certain specific individuals provided help, I would have to say my time there was a series of being promised and having promises broken. I would argue there was boxes to be ticked, but their effects where never achieved.Tgere was very little equality and I had my rights breeched on multiple occasions, however due to authority figures, you were never able to argue back your point. I would genuinely like to see improvement but as of right now, I would not reccomend this school to you.

I'm a parent and unfortunately my child still attends here . If I could go back in time I would never ever of sent them here . The sen at this school is appalling. They do not follow plans laid out . Are extremely insensitive to mental health and any disability that poses a challenge. When you complain the teachers will lie through there back teeth .And if your being bullied forget it the school couldn't care less . Some teachers are nice but those in charge head of year , lead senco are a joke . The head really needs to keep a closer eye on his staff . I am actively trying to remove my child from this school at the time of writing this .

Honest to god im a former student and the head of years are insensitive pricks. They will not send you home even if you have like 2 panic attacks in one day, any attendance under 96%? Yeah no chance. Ever since they have Miss Lithgow as a head of year shits gone down hill real quick. Some teachers are caring whereas others just dont get the issue. Honest to god if your child is mentally not okay, do NOT send them to this shithole.

Smelly dump. The students are customers and the staff are malnourished of proper support which affects the students. Rather send my kids back to 1800’s to the work house.

The first year was ok at best, bulling was big and cleanliness is moderately good.Teaching is pretty good with the exception of pe. second year was the same as the first but slightly stricter rules. there’s year brought the no phone policy in and lates rose and the attention span of kids dropped. GCSEs started this year as well so more demanding teachers but still relaxed as they said you have till June 2021. 4th year was actually pretty good with everyone used to the new rule and the school coping with some issues, quality of teaching rose until march then it was online. 5th year was decent masks on teachers dearly demanding us for grades as they still unsure what’s happening. January online again but this time people showed up and completed work. march to may was full working and trying to put evidence for grades together. In all the quality of teaching right now is 4/5 and cleanliness is 3/5 and bullying is still disgusting 0/5. hope the school does better on this as they promise every year. If you are sending your child here be warned of over priced shirts blazers and pants and ties and pe kits and skirts. 4/5 on food quality, healthy options are available but ther are always unhealthy options available eg pizza. some teachers will treat you with amazing respect and always try to help you out whenever possible others will chuck you out of lesson for breathing. 3/5 stars seems reasonable the new head seems friendly and kind hope he does good especially with the pool opening.

i went to the sutton cadet for the whole 5 years during gcses teachers were rude and insensitive to home issues. teachers were constantly belittling feelings of my one and classmates. they don’t care for mental health only attendance and often have cover teachers as teachers don’t show up. this causes lessons to go off topic as cover teachers are unable to teach properly leading to bad grades on exams. i wouldn’t recommend this school in any way shape or form it’s unhealthy and not a nice environment for your children.

It was fun in the first 3 years. Then they said no to phone and now it boring

The school staff are absolutely a polling treating students like something at the bottom of there shoes and last year 11 gcse was rig with a small amount of students get the same grades I wouldn’t send your child here
