Bad school
I had so much trouble at this school my son has autism and learing difficulties members of staff bullied my son and sone children there but I was mainly some staff wouldn't help at all I also have autism myself the teacher treated me like I was beneath them no help what so ever disscusting I pulled my son out as its a terrible school no commication what so ever very poor wouldn't recommend at all I'm so glad my son is out if there it was he'll
Sad and disappointed
It is with sadness that I feel compelled to leave this review for a school which has failed my grandson,and offered little support to my daughter, having worked in education throughout my life I always felt that teaching was geared to bring out children’s individuality, I would say if you have a child who sometimes struggle to conform in a classroom setting Thurston would not be the school of choice.
Unacceptable
After a year of battling for communication, recognition and support for my sons additional needs we had to leave. I have never known a school so unorganised, unhelpful and made me as a parent feel I didn’t know what was best for my son. Constant mistakes are made even to the point of parent confidentiality. I have felt ignored and my son has felt such pressure and anxiety to live up to what they call `The Thurston Way‘. I’m afraid we are all unique and not everyone can conform to such strict rules, living in the 21st century. Thankfully we got out when we could and for anyone looking at this school especially if your child is neurodivergent and has additional needs then I would honestly just stay away. It’s been both mentally straining on my son and myself and would hate anyone to go through what we have been through with this school.

very poor standard school I would keep your kids away unless they want absolutely any personality/individualism drummed out of them. highly religious school with very strange beliefs, hours per day wasted sitting in "group worship" for some reason.
communication from the school is EXTREMELY poor, the head teacher has no clue what he's doing there, seems more a business man than a teacher, has zero experience dealing with children just seems to want to run it like his own little business where he can ignore parents repeated concerns.
if you reach out and complain and they actually speak to you (rare) they might improve for a week or so but after that it's back to business and the same issues keep happening, where neurodivergent kids are basically bullied into shape and traumatised at a young age just for being a bit different

Crap school
My child attends this school it's shocking the school is crap wouldn't recommend at all my child is bring badly bullied by children and teachers my child has come home with burses and comes home sobbing all the time not wanting to go it's hearbraking seeing my child in this state definitely looking at other school to get my child out ASAP the teacher are rude and poor attitude to wards children and parents my child gets the blame all the time for other children's bad behaviour my child has autism and learing difficulties no help abs support had meeting time and time again nothing has happend do not send your children hear crap school
Completely disgusting school
My son attends the school I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone my son has autism and learing difficulties been promised help and support there's nothing my son is being badly bullied by children and surtion members of staff to the point he's sobbing and crying and he hates it there I hate sending my son there I'm even being bullied to by surtion teachers as I suffer from autism to and struggle with things to they are rude and they speak and treat me like a child it's disgusting and they teachers have poor attitude toward children and parents they are very very unprofessional to there's no help and support for children with learing difficulties my son gets the blame for things and is classed as naughty witch he's not it's heart breaking to see mycson in this sate definitely looking at other schools very very disscusted in this school it's not run properly at all and the safeguarding is crap and the send teacher is useless and not understanding at all my son dose not feel safe there either it a horrible school please do not send your children here
