I was very unhappy with Toddler Town Nursery in Walsall. The hygiene standards were far below what I would expect for a childcare setting – classrooms and play areas often looked untidy, and I didn’t feel confident that cleanliness was taken seriously.
On top of this, communication from the manager was extremely poor. Concerns I raised were either brushed aside or met with vague responses, which left me feeling ignored rather than reassured. For a nursery that is meant to prioritise children’s wellbeing, I found the lack of transparency and accountability very worrying.
I cannot recommend this nursery to other parents.
I have been increasingly concerned with the quality of care and management at this nursery. Over the past year, I have noticed several recurring issues that I believe compromise both professionalism and the wellbeing of children.
Lack of Professionalism from Staff: The majority of the staff are very young and often behave in ways that appear unprofessional. This has left me feeling uneasy about the standard of care provided.
Manager’s Availability: The manager, Maysa, is rarely available when I have called or visited. Phone calls frequently go unanswered, and when I have gone in person, I am often told she is in a meeting. However, on numerous occasions I have seen her and other staff members out in town during working hours, which raises concerns about whether these “meetings” are genuine.
Concerns About Leadership: In my view, the lack of leadership and accountability is the root of many of the issues at this nursery. The manager does not appear to recognise or address the unprofessional behaviour of her staff.
Impact on My Child: I now feel that I have let my daughter down by placing her here, as I do not believe she has received the standard of care she deserves.
For the benefit of the children and families, I believe this nursery urgently requires stronger, more experienced management and closer oversight. At present, it presents a positive image to parents on the surface, but my experience has been very disappointing.
Registered my son two months ago to start in April, I was told I’d be contacted for a start date which never happened so I contacted them again and eventually got through and told someone would contact me back, it’s been a month and I’ve had no reply.
Badly managed.
Money focused and do not care for parents.
Nursery often closes with very short notice.
Funded kids are often sent back home with no reason other than short of staff.
Management and staffs are often rude and disrespectful.
