Not a a very positive experience - Let Down by the School
My child attended this school and unfortunately, it was not a positive experience for my child or the family, the situation became unbearable and my child was unable to attend any longer.
Some of the staff we felt were not always truthful about situations, and they were not following their own procedures. Some staff would not follow the behaviour policy in particular fairly.
We witnessed some unprofessional behaviour by staff, comments made to my child about us parents, and also whispering, eye-rolling and snickering at myself and my husband by some staff during parents evening and after meetings in school.
Some staff however, were very professional and reasonable, they would follow policies and try to accommodate the reasonable adjustments in place for my child. However, the majority of these have now left the school and work at another school in the city.
My child was also bullied, this wasn't always dealt with properly, it depended on which member(s) of staff dealt with it.
This is an open and honest review by a parent who's child attended the school.
this school not okay at all the bullying that happens and never gets sorted teachers care more about the uniform more than a students mental health even if you are stressed and can’t be in lesson they still force you to go while your in a state, and if you are sick they don’t care the office lady just asks you if you have eaten anything and drinking water is apparently a cure for everything
The opening paragraph of the ofsted report states there isn’t a problem with bullying, absolutely not true. The bullying at this school is horrendous and pupil’s don’t feel safe. The behaviour system is ridiculous and unprofessional teachers issue warnings unnecessarily if they don’t like a pupil. This causes unnecessary stress. Staff gaslight pupils and parents. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
I have been going too this school for nearly 5 years now and some of the teachers are really lovely and do a great job of teaching however, everything else is utter tragic
Us girls are not aloud too wear skirts , at all. The school, littearly stated it was because of “male teachers”. What does that say about who your hiring?
We have 3 toilets: girls , boys and unisex [uni sex is still split into gender] the boys toilet is constantly closed and all the other toilets locks are broken , and they’d rather buy a new Tv no one will see in the canteen then fix it
They still require students too have a logo on there trousers even though that was outlawed by the government august 2022- uniform for this school is way too expensive.
There are fights constantly, I never feel safe walking round , especially since they don’t do anything about bullying. They are more fussed about people wearing coats
The teachers make you late for lesson by making you line up at the end of dinner in register [alphabetical] and spend ages checking your a2ls so your in the correct order , it’s stressful and a waste of time
If you get 3 lates in a week, you get isolation, even if they were just a minute late or was because of traffic. So because I missed like 3 minutes of lessons your making me miss 6 HOURS? Of lessons? It makes no sense
I could continue- overall, the teaching is good, but it can’t deal with actual students and the school just overall isn’t very good.
