Hate /Bullying

I would like to say that verulam are seen to have a good reputation within those school walls. This is NOT the case
My grandson has had untold attacks on him from various aisan boys since he started in 2022 and the school have not taken it seriously to a point where now I fear for his safety . There has been several attacks on him and has been recorded then out in social media and then turned it to cyber bullying !

This is not acceptable in any form.
The school needs to accept what’s been happening and take serious action !!!
This school is very bad.

Verulam school review

The school is quite strict there is only one detention during school so most times you have to stay after school and most of the teachers are quite mean and I would not send my younger son there

Down the Pan

Poor and inconsistent adherence to SEND code of practice. The school misuses the allocated high needs funding of their ehcp students. If parents raise grievences, they are censored with a new anti-abuse against staff policy, which errodes the teacher, pupil and parent partnership.

The new woke agenda is extreme feminism and gender activists not tempered with free discussion , reason and logic, forcing upon the students the mindsets that they are potential rapists/ TERFS and if they disagree they are misogynistic and bigoted. Schools are required by law to discuss and teach lessons unbiased... this is indoctrination and quells any critical thinking skills, erodes any personal safety boundaries that any young student is developing and stigmatises those who have an opposing view. Where any cognitive dissonance or discourse is hindered therefore eradicating cognitive development and development of schemas in every student.

Left few years back. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Bullies would get a slap on the wrist and let off. Even though it was consistent. They would give new teachers or supply teachers to lower sets and the better teachers to higher sets. Where you would think
It would be the other way round?
In winter you would have to share a “common room” with every other form in your year which was a breeding ground to get sick and ill.

The teachers enjoy being rude to the students. Some teachers even tell other students they will not go anywhere in life and will end up doing nothing.

You would get better meals in prison than the canteen as it is all over priced frozen food you order from your weekly shop. Altogether this school is utter shit with rumours of certain members of staff being pedophiles, which was all banta but the rumours went around from students who left years before we even joined.

Don’t go here.

Living in the past, when it failed, yet again.

Based on wikipedia edits from the 2000s when it was certified to be a crap school, its basically going back to when it was crap.

You know what they say, "those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it".

Literally a massive dishonest advert.

Verulam, before September 2018, deserved Outstanding. It was amazing, the teachers had good discipline and did a good Job. There were loads of opportunities available like prefects (loads of spaces), good canteen food which was affordable, and generally everything was done for Pupils' good experience and Teachers did well too, not for show. I used to literally want to come to school. Insane isn't it...

Fastforward now, 2022. Verulam no longer disciplines it's students, probably to be "politically correct", all those opportunities are gone, there are generally no facilities available to us at break and lunch for apparently no reason, teachers now generally aren't good, and we're constantly bombarded with stupid woke stuff, like a constant emphasis on Race, Gender etc to the point where they have to force people to attend Friday lectures because nobody would want to be encouraged to go to them, DESPITE IT SAYING SO. The canteen food sucks, prefects are done by diversity, there's no organization and yeah. It just sucks now. Everything nowadays is done for one reason: Advertising to the general public. They spend money and do things literally just for that, meanwhile we're missing learning resources. Guess a new grey carpet is more important than our books... The school website is also riddled with Lies. A good example: https://verulamschool.co.uk/student-leadership/

Just ask a pupil in year 7 to 11 and they'll be really confused about any of it. Because it's all fake or from the past.

If you want to remain a little child, never mature, and get brainwashed by leftist politics, go to Verulam School. Or if you already go, I beg you start speaking out against their terrible leadership and terrible choices which are frankly an embarrassment.

Not many pupils know about Verulam before the whole change of Governors happened in 2018, but if you happen not to know, just know it was so much better than it is now. It was phenomenal.

Before 2018

When Verulam was under John Kennedy (Chair of Governors) and Paul Ramsey (Headmaster), it was a fantastic place to be. There were so many things to do, we were treated maturely, there was good discipline and generally things were done FOR US. After the school got inadequate in 2018 however (completely unfair), the school over 3 years became more and more reduced, the discipline became incredibly crap, and the school has become extremely woke. It's so cringe.

Before: Good teachers, good opportunities and oversubscribed. Everything done FOR PUPILS.
Now: Stupid things happen and you never know why. They just kind of do. We have regular assemblies criticizing us for being Male. NOTHING DONE FOR PUPILS, everything is just done for show and there's literally nothing to do most of the time.

SORT IT OUT.

Good School

Verulam Boys School is a great school from the outside ,but, once you start looking deeper you find problems..
Although the schools GCSE grades are pretty good the boys are quiet rowdy in lessons and at lunch they leave quiet a lot of litter around, especially yrs 9 and 10.
Overall the school is better than other schools I’ve seen.
