GREAT FOR KIDS, NOT SO MUCH PARENTS

My daughter loved most of the staff members and enjoyed her time here. They focus a lot of time outside and have a very freeflow atmosphere. Terry who runs the forest school is fantastic and has built an amazing little school from scratch. They learn a good deal of life skills there and would definitely recommend. Unfortunately the business side of things and being at the parent end of the business it is not so good. Tons of my daughters clothes needlessly ruined with various mediums of paint and other stains despite having coveralls and aprons etc, her personal belongings were not treated with respect at all. One key person attempted to stamp out my daughters love for learning by actually telling me to stop teaching her at home as she won't need to know it for school and it will make her stand out too much! No attempt to understand my daughters medical conditions with toileting and pushing her to stop wearing training pants and pads despite us going through plans with the bladder and bowel team etc. Difficult to work with in general and not helpful or understanding of extenuating circumstances for many of the parents and familes, seemingly it is especially single parents who work or have their own difficulties with health. Minor lateness (of no more than 10 minutes for me personally), as staff obviously have their own children to collect etc is met strongly as though there is no plan for any issues despite the fact pick up and drop off can take up to half an hour depending on how many children are in that day and how much staff are chatting to other parents ahead in the queue.
If you are planning on sending your child to Indian Queens Primary school they work well with them to help with the transfer to reception class, any other school does not get quite the same smooth takeover but they do work well with the children in the run up to school start to make sure they understand the basic rules of the classroom and can hold a pencil and identify letters and numbers etc

Overall it isn't a bad place to send children and besides one or two staff members, it is a fun, freeflow and independent learning space but as a parent be prepared to have no difficult life events that need support as a few have struggled to get any.
