Not an ideal experience.
I was not at this college for particularly long, due to various reasons. As such, it's very difficult to paint it in a good light. The overall environment was great. For the most part the people were great. But holy shit, they really let down their neurodivergent students. Especially those who aren't medically diagnosed (such as me, at the time). During my interview it was explicitly stated that I would require extra support due to suspected autism. Naturally I would like to presume that this support would be there, and it just wasn't. As a matter of fact, there was nothing on my records at all to indicate anything. It was stressful and frustrating being there. College is a big change from secondary school and it was very challenging to transition from one to the other, even moreso when the support was simply not there. I left on my own accord in my first year, because I was burnt out. Obviously I didn't take every course either, but from what I experienced, teachers are often very hit or miss. Some are phenomenal and really know what they're doing, others seem to be in their own world sometimes or just straight up unenthusiastic about anything. Don't get me wrong, I do miss my time here. But I miss the times it was enjoyable for me. I will say that the support they have in place for LGBTQ+ students is very good though, especially compared to secondary school. I will also say that the college was very good at communicating with the students as a whole too.
