hell on earth

i used to be a student here and it was one of the WORST times of my life, i was bullied physically and emotionally here by my whole entire class and my teachers never did anything about it. the only time the teachers reacted was when i fought back and defended myself against one of my bullies and i was the one who got in trouble for it. ive been humiliated and made fun of by my own teachers, whenever i asked a genuine question that was ‘stupid’ my teacher wouldve prompted the whole class to laugh at me and they wouldve called me stupid. the school also doesnt know how to deal with mental health issues and theyre god awful at it, they didnt know how to deal with my temper tantrums from being overstimulated or my selective mutism. the school in general is just really horrible for people like me, the things my bullies did to me were genuinely horrific and scarring and no matter how much i complained about it nothing changed. PLEASE PLEASE do not bring your child here especially if they have special needs like me

Absolutely dreadful staff dreadful sen

Please really think hard about sending your child to this school. It your child will be ok at any school, then sure they would get the grades and be ok here, if your child will struggle in any aspect, expect the school to absolutely break them!!! You will look back and wish you had listened I promise you.
At least 5 members of staff are completely unprofessional, people I wouldn’t dream of teaching my child & the head covers it up, what others have said is the truth.

this is such a shit school!

this school is absolutely terrible, i have been at this school for 3 years and teachers care more about how you look than your mental health, good ofsted reports mean nothing when the teachers and students are made to act a certain way when ofsted come to the school. i have time after time been put into a little room with a desk next to windows seeing into people having fun outside, also next to a door being told i am not allowed to leave and have my phone and school ipad taken off me. i have had multiple sanctions for simply having panic attacks and the teachers don’t know how to deal with struggling teenagers. they don’t care about bullying all they care about is if they hear you swear or fight back to the bullies. they put me on a 1-6 from the start of summer term 2nd part to the next year because i kept failing it, it wasn’t my fault when i had panic attacks they did in fact ignore me and when i told them i was claustrophobic and i couldn’t be in that room they didn’t care. why should the students care when the teachers don’t?

1-6 is coming in to school at 1pm and finishing at 6pm, this should be illegal. they take your phone and school ipad off you and place you in a small room with only a desk and chair , sometimes with windows sometimes without and they don’t take you on walks every hour like they say they will, don’t know how they expect students to obey them when they have stupid rules like the size of earrings.

Samuel ryder academy: the school from hell.

Worst school in my area. Staff do not care for bullying, mental health issues or anything that involves them doing what they believe they are not payed for. There was one staff member who took photos of a student’s messages that were of no concern and raised no issues, this staff member still works there. Even the names staff don’t do this. Granted you used to have good staff who would listen to you but you never felt cared for. For the safety of your child’s mental well-being do not send them here. The codes to the doors would be known and people would leave when they want. WARNING- DONT SEND CHILD HERE

Samuel Ryder Academy is Terrible

Samuel Ryder Academy has shocking levels of bullying, by both students and staff! The head is also the deputy director of the entire academy trust, and the director for Links while actively encouraging a culture of covering up. Logs are not made of allegations of bullying from staff and peers while also not investigated as in line Keeping Children Safe in Education, threatening behaviour such as a pupil being told to kill herself is “normal teenage friendship issues”. SEND support is shockingly bad. As the head is deputy director of the trust, they are answerable to NOBODY! Do not send your children here! Students are constantly fighting around the school, the SENCO thinks it’s appropriate at lesson time to force students against their will to play kiss marry kill while naming who in the geography department he would kiss, marry or kill while not providing VI support to VI pupils. The family support worker has been named in multiple statements as bullying, harassing and intimidating students. Multiple parents have had to remove their children due to SRA having a detrimental affect on their children's mental health! The safeguarding governor hasn’t even bothered to go to the school in years.
